This is the beginning of a long haul, this is the fun-filled log of my training.

January
12:      So, I am getting a slow start.  Shoot me.  Next Monday and Wednesday I will be in Spinning Classes that I am sure will kick my big tushy.
17:      First Spinning Class since last year this time. It was tough but not as bad as I expected. I will be in at least 2 spinning classes a week until it is warm enough for me to ride outside. If you see that I am not holding up to this: you have permission to yell at me.
19:      Spinning. My training from now until the snow melt is going to look pretty boring. Just spinning. I am lifting weights a couple times a week and taking other aerobics classes and if you feel I should put those down to please drop me a line at tia@netmeg.org.
24:      Spinning. And I was crazy enough to go to a kickboxing class tonight. WooHoo!
27:      Spinning.
31:      Well my gym changed the way it has us sign-up for Spinning classes and I was not able to get into the class tonight. I was extremly frustrated. I went for a long walk but somehow it just was not the same.

February
4:       Spinning, I am feeling the improvement already. WooHoo!
5:       30 minutes on a stationary bike
7:       OK so now I am really frustrated with my gym. This is the second Monday in a row that I have missed a Spinning class because a miscommunication concerning the policy to sign up for the class. If I miss one more because of a similer reason I am looking for a new gym.
9:       Spinning out of control!
14:     Happy Valentine's Day! Bleck! I think that Spinning today was the only thing that kept me sane this fine day. I don't think I have ever had such a bitter V-Day. Though I did see "The Vagina Monologues" which was a wonderful collection of monologues of women talking about their vaginas.
16:    Spinning. I have been getting cramps in the back of my calf when sprinting. If anyone knows what might be cause this please drop me a line at tia@netmeg.org
23:    Aww man! I am sick and have been for 5 days now. Training is just not happening this week. I am not even well enough to do a wimpy workout. I am drinking lots of fluids and getting lots of rest. Wish me well.
29:    Still sick. Though I am going to try Spinning tomorrow. I just have to take it easy. And by the way: Happy Leap Year!

March
1:       Wow, it is already March. 131 days until the ride begins. Today I went to the Spinning even though I am still not completely healthy, but it felt good. I have got to keep the motivation going to start fundraising.
6:       Spinning. Does anyone out there know of a good way I can motivate myself to ride in the mornings? The weather has been fantastic, but I have been too lazy to get up in the mornings, and by the time I get out of work it is already getting dark. Please e-mail at tia@netmeg.org
7:       16 mile ride. And it felt good! So I got into a little scrap and I got a flat tire. It was still beautiful out.
8:       Spinning. I really love the music my instrutor plays. Today we went up hills and sprinted to Depeche Mode and New Order. Hurrah, to New Wave Music!
15:      Spinning. And there was a different instructor. I was happy with the workout until the end. When we all got off her bikes she came right over to me, "You did great" I know I am not a fabulous rider. I know there were people in that class that were pushing themselves harder than I was pushing myself. Nope, she was just trying to encourage the fat chick. I know she was trying to be nice, but fat chicks can be fit too. I hate it when fitness instructors do that. It is one thing to encourage the whole class it is another to decide that I am out of shape and need encouragement to keep me going to the classes. Now I am going to step off of my soap box.
22:      I have been working late all this week so this was the only day I had the chance to spin. And it hurt. The instructor played a Heart Attack CD. We spun to Prodigy. Lots of long hills and long runs.
26:      35 mile bike ride. 2 flats. Beautiful weather. All with my Girl Scout Co-leader. Yay!
27:      Spinning, spinning, spinning, keep those pedals spinning, Raw Hide!
29:      Spinning. If only I could develop the buff body that my instructor has. Wow.
30:      I went for a 14 mile ride. Good sign: it already feels like a short ride.

April
3:       How did it get to be April already? Well went to Spinning. I have been a slack on weight lifting. I have to find my motivation again, I think I might have put it in storage.
5:       Spinning. The weather has been icky and I have not been feeling too swift (agai n!) so hopefully soon that will change and I will be able to get back on my bike again.
10:     Well it snowed this weekend. SO I did not get any riding in. And this morning the oddest thing happened. I usually sleep with a candle burning in my room. I don't think much of it. Well, when I woke up this morning My nose and mouth were full of soot. And I am having a hard time breathing today. So unfortunatly Spinning is out of the question. Hopefully I will be able to flush the soot out of my system by tomorrow.
12:     Spinning. Sometimes it just feels good to sweat!
24:     So I have been a slacker for a little more than a week. I have no excuse. I went for a beautiful ride to downtown Ypsi. 15 miles total.
26:     24 miles. 24 very slow miles. I went riding with a friend who is not the speediest of riders. So it was not much of a workout, I did get to see every detail from birds to flowers to trees along Huron River Drive.

May
11:     14 miles. 7 miles winds to my back. 7 miles head winds. Weeee!
14:     19 miles. I am feeling really out of shape. I am kicking up my weight lifting again. I am hoping that will help.
17:     16 miles.

June
3:       50 miles in the hillier area of Saugatuck. With My buddy Roger who I met on the ride last year.
4:       Yes, another 50 miles. I am not in bad as shape as I thought I was. Though I still need improvement! Thanks Roger for coming up to Michigan and kicking my tush!
